Petersons
In the spring semester at Seaway University in Mt. George, Iowa, three men and three women enroll in Professor Shay Norman’s graduate seminar, Forensics in History. The students study a forensic textbook and examine the forensic details of an unusual robbery at the Cooper Mall branch of the Mt. George National Bank.
As the study of the robbery continues, forensic details do not match those of the official report. Intra-university opposition to the seminar increases as the students discover one detail after another, missed in the original investigation. For the bank robbery, the forensic study leads to a murder and a massive financial fraud.
Because the students must work collaboratively, they meet weekly in room two at Petersons, a popular local restaurant close to the university. In addition to the forensic project, students face their own personal issues—a spouse’s death, a fiancé’s brutal murder, rape, a jilted romance, and mutual attractions.
The examination of the bank robbery goes in unexpected directions; so do the students’ lives in their weekly meetings at Petersons.
